Can intramural college sports be competitive?
I’m planning on playing intramural water polo at UC Santa Barbara next year. I really enjoy playing competitive water polo, but their intercollegiate team is way too intense for me with several practices a day that I just won’t have time for. Are intramural sports at colleges typically just for fun or can they be played on a competitive level too?

It usually depends on who else is playing but yes they can be competitive as well. Beaker
Definatly played at a competitive level! I play water polo over on the east coast in college and we aren’t the varsity team but it is every bit as competitive, just minus all the extra hours.
Good luck to you! Amy C
